INDoS Correction/DG profile Correction

Indian National Database of Seafarers is a computerized national database of Indian seafarers consist of seafarers unique ID number and personal details. The name and the address mention on INDoS certificate used in every related certificates/CDC/and other documents of seafarers. Any seafarers could update his/her name, DOB, personal details, physical details, address details , sequence of full name, education/ qualification details, authorized documents, signature, photo and many more in INDoS certificate and DG profile.

Seafarers Identification Document (SID BIOMATRIC CARD)

As per DG Shipping notice 2 of 2019 SID is compulsory for every seafarers. SID is a Biometric Seafarers Identity Document to be given to all seafarers by DG Shipping to provide more security, easy access for joining a company, emigration, check in/checkout on vessel, and a main Identity of seafarer. The new biometric SID has the provisions for the bar coding of the bio-metrics based identity of seafarers and a centralized data base maintained in the issuing country, which can be accessed globally through an interoperable & standard biometric template.

Indian CDC (New/Renewal/Replacement/Duplicate)

A Continuous Certificate of Discharge or Continuous Discharge Certificate (C.D.C.) is a seafarer's identity document issued by Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of India that certifies the person holding this is a seaman as per The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW),1978, as amended 1995. As per latest Merchant Shipping (M.S) Notice MS Notice 1 of 2018 dated 16th Jan 2018 In order to apply for a CDC, a person has to be an Indian national of 18 years old, with an Indian passport and a Class 10 pass certificate, and has to complete five basic International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) safety courses. CDC valid up to 10 years, after expiring CDC seafarer need to apply for Renewal of CDC. If Indian CDC get lost then seafarer must report to local police station and apply Duplicate CDC with valid/open FIR. Seafarer can apply for Replacement of CDC if CDC is not in good condition or broke.

Dangerous Cargo (DC) Endorsement

Dangerous cargo endorsement is a certificate of authorization for a seafarer, qualifying him/her for working on any vessel dealing with cargo that are categorized as maritime dangerous goods. There is two types of DCE, Level 1 - Basic for fresher’s and Level 2 - Advance for those seaman having 3 months sea service within the last 6 months. Shipping of materials like gasoline, petroleum, chemicals etc requires specialized authorization by the government of a nation for a vessel to handle them. To be qualified to work on such vessels, every seafarer would need a DC endorsement. The endorsement certificate/training varies for the kind of vessel you wish to work on, namely- petroleum, chemicals or liquid gas. You must consider this before applying for endorsement. Once you obtain your endorsement certificate, it remains valid for a period of five years. Upon successful completion of the period, a seafarer can apply for revalidation of the certificate. Revalidation of the certificate is necessary, as per the IMO guidelines.

Cookery Certificate (New/Renewal/Duplicate)

As per provision under Merchant Shipping Act, 1958, under MS (Certificate of Competency as a Cook in the merchant navy) Rules, 1991 as amended, all the seafarers working as cook and completed minimum 6 months of training must apply for cookery certificate.

GMDSS Certificate (Basic and Advance Level)

The GMDSS General Operators Certificate (GOC) is the highest level GMDSS radio operator qualification .Every person in charge of performing Radio duties on ship are required to participate in the GMDSS (GOC).This certificate marks the competency of a seafarer in handling radio communications and operating laws, which is an essential skill in ship navigation. Holders of the GMDSS GOC are certified to operate all licensed marine radio equipment, including radio-telephony, digital selective calling, radio telex, and satellite mobile earth stations. After completing 8 day GMDSS course and passing exams it's mandatory to apply for GMDSS certificate. Once you obtain your GMDSS endorsement certificate, it would need to be revalidated every five years.
